Nao RoboCup Edition

Nao has been selected by the International RoboCup committee as the successor of the Sony robot dog Aibo, and is now proud to be the new official robot platform of the RoboCup Standard League.

Thus, the edition of the RoboCup in July 2008, in Suzhou in China, featured 16 teams from universities all over the world. They have been able to use the excellent cognitive and physical abilities of dozens of Nao (4 in each team) during soccer matches.

The RoboCup 2009 competition will take place in Graz, Austria.

Nao RoboCup Edition launch

The first Nao RoboCup Edition deliveries have begun at the end of March 2008. These first units have been produced in France, in the Aldebaran Robotics' Parisian office.
You will find below a selection of pictures of the Nao RoboCup Edition 2008.

Nao RoboCup Simulated leagues

This year's RoboCup have seen for the first time, two parallel simulated leagues, where contestants can battle simulated Naos against each other in the simulation environment of their choice.

The finals of both of these competitions have been held in Suzhou, China. Those teams interested in making an official entry into the competitions should contact the RoboCup organizing committee for further details.

RobotStadium

Robotstadium is a realistic simulation league based on Webots and URBI corresponding to the RoboCup Nao Standard League.

MSRS

Using the Microsoft Robotics Studio's simulation environment, eight Naos can play in the RoboCup Standard League field environment, with automatic enforcement of RoboCup game play rules.
